A New Year

After a brief hiatus, I am back. The New Year began with a-wandering about Taoyuan. New Year’s festivities, at least in Taiwan, were a little subdued because it really isn’t the New Year yet … that comes in late January. Oh, the differences between the solar and lunar calendars! The New Year brought a fresh vacation for myself and co-workers, something which I decidedly needed. I took my travels to the south of Taiwan to the cities of Tainan and Gao-Hsiung. After four days of treks, trains, and temples, I and my companions caught a bus back to Taoyuan. For myself, the break was a way to break the monotony of work and to clear my head. THis past week of work has flown by and there is another vacation period coming up for Chinese New Year, currently planning a possible trip to the East coast. We’ll just have to wait and see. I hope to become a bit more regular with my postings. Cheers.
